Urgency or Not Wanting to Debate?

If the problems with the economy are so bad that McCain has to suspend his campaign and wants to back out of the debate on Friday, then why did this occur?

The McCain campaign’s new urgency about the financial crisis didn’t entirely clear his schedule this morning. My colleague Amie Parnes reports that he made it to his scheduled morning meeting with Lady Lynn de Rothschild, a Clinton backer who recently came out in support of him. All while Obama was waiting by the phone for a returned call.

Losing HOPE

I’m losing hope in this election.  Not about Obama not winning, I’m always nervous about that.  But about who Barack Obama really is.  Is he the man who is going to clean up Washington, change the face of our politics, and actually help the millions of people who got him to the top?  Or is he going to forget about everyone and all of his morals and do anything in his power in order to win?  The latter is not the person that I know to be Barack Obama.  The latter is every other politician (except for a few).  The latter is everything that Barack Obama has fought against.  But the latter is certainly the one that comes out in this new ad:

I guess you could say that my innocence has just been lost.  Barack Obama, please change the way you are acting.  Attack McCain because your policies are better and you are better able to deal with the problems facing our country.  Leave the dirty attacks to Biden, the liberal 527, and the bloggers.  John McCain is a liar, Sarah Palin is a liar.  Focus on that, not cars.  Be the person I know you are.  Be the politician I know you are.
