For those of you that are unfamiliar with the post, it is the 4th highest-ranking position. He’s taking over for Rahm Emanuel, who is going off to serve in the Obama Administration.

It’s a good thing Senators are elected for 6 year terms, at least for Joe Lieberman.
Lieberman’s Senate seat comes up for reelection in Nov. 2012 (ahh a Presidential election year too!).
Fortunately for the Dems and for CT, he won’t be around after that election.
